After wanting to further my passion in Make up Artistry I left my home town Dunedin in 2016 and moved up to Wellington to pursue studies in Makeup Artistry at Weltec, from there I moved to my first job in the industry at EstΓ©e Lauder and gained a wealth of knowledge on makeup, skincare and health. After my time was up in the North island I moved back down south to Cromwell with my partner and have been working at a beauty therapy clinic, while there I gained the skill of nail art as a manicurist while continuing to do makeup.

Among many reasons the two most important aspects of why I love the industry I am in is 1. You are forever learning new tricks of the trade! It's an ever growing industry with new specialties and techniques and that gives me such drive and motivation to better my skills everyday. And 2. Is the fulfilling feeling of satisfying a client and making them feel the best they can with any service you perform, I'm very much a people person and this alone is enough of a reason to love my job.Β

In my spare time I love socialising with friends, enjoy going for walks admiring our awesome scenery and I don't mind having a wine either! I always appreciate living in such a beautiful part of New Zealand and try not to take it for granted and enjoy our great backyard

For the past 12 years beauty therapy has been my passion. Knowing that my clients are left feeling pampered and great about themselves is extremely rewarding, and is one of the many reason I love my job.

I gained my NCQ3 Beauty Therapy Qualification while I was still living in the UK. During my 2 years in training I specialised in nail services, focusing on manicures, sculptured acrylics and gel nails. I previously owned my own salon in the UK before relocating to Queenstown in 2013 and throughout my 12 years experience working in the industry I have focused on keeping up with current beauty trends & techniques to ensure I'm offering my clients the very best. Nails, spray tanning and body contouring are treatments I love and are skills I excel in.

Products I'm passionate about and have used previously in my salon and continue to use today are; Young Nails, CND shellac, OPI, Nouveau and BGorgeous Organic Tan.

Being able to offer my services as a freelancing Beauty Therapist & Nail Technician has allowed the best of both worlds to continue working in this industry while raising my 2 young children, who are my other passion and love in life. When I'm not working, you'll find me exploring the outdoors in this beautiful country I now get to call home with my children and friends. I absolutely love music, dancing and socialising with my friends, plus the occasional spot of shopping never goes amiss πŸ˜‰. My motto in life is treat everyday as if your last, stay beautiful people

I truly believe I was destined to become a makeup artist. With a mum as a makeup artist and a sister as a model, I grew up around cosmetics and beauty products. I was always that kid in school getting told off for wearing too much makeup and have never been afraid of doing crazy things with my hair!

After spending many years doing makeup for friends and family I finally decided I wanted to further develop my skills. I got accepted into The Makeup School in Ponsonby, Auckland and very quickly realised I didn't know as much about being a makeup artist as I thought I did! πŸ˜… Initially I thought I'd just do the course for my own personal interest rather than turning it into a career, but by the time I finished and received my qualification I wanted to be doing makeup all the time!

I love sitting down with a client and working together with them to create a makeup look they love for their special day or event, from scrolling through their Pinterest inspiration and providing them with recommendations on what makeup styles would best suit their facial features, to bringing the whole look together and seeing the buzz my clients get when they see the finished makeup.

When I'm not doing makeup, I'm learning about new makeup and skincare products, and keeping up to date with the latest fashion and beauty trends. When I'm away from my desk you'd find me out 4WDing, camping and hiking with my husband Ben and our dog Yuki during the summer months. During the winter I'm a keen snowboarder!

I relocated from Auckland to Queenstown in April 2015 with  Ben and life down here is amazing. Without a doubt Queenstown is one of the most beautiful places in the world, the perfect spot for a photoshoot or wedding πŸ˜‰!

Growing up I used to love watching old movies with Audrey Hepburn, Raquel Welch and Marilyn Monroe. I'd watch all the old James Bond movies and I'd love the heroin characters.  I loved their style, hair and makeup, I'd try and re-create their looks on myself in my bedroom and run around acting like them. I had no idea it was even a job that somebody had to make these women look beautiful until I was a teenager. By the time I was 16 I started volunteering to do makeup for the drama department at school and it was my parents that first suggested that I study media makeup once I left high school.

In 2007 I gained my Foundation Degree in Media Makeup in Somerset, England. Once qualified, I worked part time for MAC Cosmetics and part time for a photography studio as the in house makeup artist.  I then worked for an AVEDA salon, before working for Bobbi Brown for 2 years.

In 2008, I also had the opportunity to worked with the makeup department in London for the BBC television show Silent Witness.  Later that year I also worked on more TV productions including historical drama documentary Ancient Mega Structures, produced by Darlow Smithson.

I've always loved making people look like a prettier version of themselves. With all the training I've had I've felt my skill and passion grow.  It's very satisfying to know that I'm good at something I love.  Some of the best moments are when I finish someones makeup and they can't believe how good they look and feel.  It's a hugely rewarding feeling to know I've helped that person feel so great about themselves.

I arrived in New Zealand in 2010 and took an 'intermission' from makeup and worked at AJ Hackett for 4 years. I was then offered a job as a makeup artist at Collective Salon, to specialise in bridal work.  On behalf of Collective I've also done a few commercials and photoshoots including Mind Food magazine and had work featured in Together Journal for 'Wild Hearts'. Early in 2017 I was delighted to become a resident of New Zealand and this affirmed to me, this was home.

When I'm not behind the makeup brushes I'm usual planning my next overseas trip - usually back home to visit family. My partner and I love to hike so we'll do lots of day trips or go and set up camp somewhere in the great outdoors.  Since moving to New Zealand I've taken up snow boarding so I try and do that every winter too.
